Here we
go again. As seen previously, (wasted
vote (2000)) the usual mantra from those who
believe Christ should come first and the moral
issues are of great importance is that a vote
for someone who "cannot win" is a mistake.
Here, and seen elsewhere in the website, are
critical reasons why this is flawed reasoning
and actually contributes to our own
failure to reach others for Christ and the
demise of our nation.
Christians, if we claim
Christ, we have willingly submitted all aspects
of our lives to God's control. We claim to be
'bond servants' of Christ.
Romans 6:22 But now that you have been set free
from sin and have become slaves to God, the
benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the
result is eternal life.
Politics is simply one way we
take a stand for God, or fail. Our choice is
part of being the 'salt and the light'.
Our vote is a test that God will
grade. He will see how much commitment we
have for Him and His Word and He will see how
much faith we have in accepting His Biblical
instructions as to how we should live, as
portrayed in the great examples in the
scriptures.
Our votes are witnesses
to our neighbors and allow us to
be the 'salt and the light' as God intended, as
we show how much more God's values mean to us
than our own reasoning and comfort.
God wants His people to never
compromise His values, making our commitment to
Him obvious to others. If we choose to
support candidates who we know are putting God's
values behind others, then we show those who are
perishing that our differences are simply a
different set of opinions as their own and not
that they are never to be broken at the risk of
God's wrath. We have become stumbling
blocks for our neighbors' salvation when we
imply that 'good people may disagree' and that
God will accept such decisions.
Should we fear John Kerry and the
justices he may appoint?
No, NEVER.
The scriptures lack
evidence that God ever blessed the
attitude such as: 'we should
choose the lesser of two evils'
or 'we just can't let an evil
John Kerry win, he will
appoint the worst judges'.
Despite multiple clear
examples in the Bible of God's
pleasure when individuals went
beyond reasoning to choose a
non-compromising stand with Him, we
still have wasted our votes on
politicians who compromise God's
issues, in the name of winning and
protection from more evil
politicians. For
this we deserve judgment.
Proverbs 29:25
Fear of man will prove to be a
snare, but whoever trusts in the
LORD is kept safe.
Should we oppose a deceived John
Kerry and the justices he may
appoint?
Of
Course.
Pray for
them too. Do all these
things with love.
|
On the contrary, the whole Bible shows
example after example of God's
pleasure with those who stand firm, who fail to
compromise on His values and
therefore receive His blessing (ie. Abraham,
Joseph, David, et.). Compromise is not a trait
that pleases God, when it comes to compromising
His values.
Spurgeon said: 'When
given a choice between the lesser of two evils,
choose neither'. That is not to
say we should withdraw from the process. Never.
|
We shouldn't fear Sen. John Kerry,
Sen. Hillary Clinton or any other
person, although letter after letter
asking for campaign contributions
from the Republican Party feeds on
exactly this.
Isaiah
51: 12 "I, even I, am he who
comforts you. Who are you that you
fear mortal men , the sons of men ,
who are but grass,13 that you forget
the LORD your Maker, who stretched
out the heavens and laid the
foundations of the earth, that you
live in constant terror every day
because of the wrath of the
oppressor, who is bent on
destruction? For where is the wrath
of the oppressor?
We should
fear God, whose name on
which we have trampled. This is
found in scriptures below:
Proverbs 9:10
"The
fear of the LORD
is the
beginning of wisdom, and knowledge
of the Holy One is understanding.
Luke 12:5
But I will show you whom you should
fear :
Fear him
who
, after the killing of the body, has
power to throw you into hell. Yes, I
tell you,
fear him
.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
Now all has been heard; here is the
conclusion of the matter:
Fear God
and keep his
commandments, for this is the whole
[duty] of man . 14 For God will
bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

Four years ago I wrote: "It is
not clear why He has so far chosen to withold
His judgment. That it will come is certain
(without repentance) and something we will
regret."
Unfortunately, even only four
years later, we find overwhelming evidence of
judgment on our nation. Many refuse to see
it, though. Here is a short list of
evidence that we are under God's judgment.
-
"Adjusted for inflation, the
income of all Americans fell 9.2 percent
from 2000 to 2002, according to the new
I.R.S. data."
NY Times July 28, 2004
-
"The number of
Americans under the control of the criminal
justice system grew by 130,700 last year to
reach a new high of nearly 6.9 million,
according to a Justice Department report
released today.
NY Times July 26, 2004
-
The attack of
September 11, 2001, God's "hedge" of
protection was removed as we have failed
Him.
-
Our budget 'surplus' is now
record deficits.
-
Our government continues to
add onerous rules to try to 'fix' our mess.
-
God has turned us over to
our sins as we have embraced the radical
homosexual agenda and promiscuity with
increasing sexually transmitted diseases.
Not just them, the 'church' as well.
We have allowed this to continue and many
unforeseen responses will continue to harm
us. Things such as increasing health
care premiums, confused, broken and angry
children from same sex 'parents' who may
also divorce (also true for other marriages,
but perhaps ratcheted up another notch), and
a shortened life expectancy with Social
Security funding decreasing, etc.
-
Attorneys at every door with
greed fueled by a public that expects
entitlements and self-centered, godless,
interests and life styles. They are
bankrupting many.
-
Our finest young men and (to
our shame), women are dying and permanently
injured from Iraq.
-
Fuel prices up
astronomically.
-
others, some of which are
not seen yet.
So, you ask, why should we call
this judgment? Because the scriptures
indicate this is true.
Amos
3:6 When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the
people tremble? When disaster comes to a city,
has not the LORD caused it?
God is judging us. We
deserve His chastisement partially for voting
for someone who knowingly compromises on those
issues God has placed in His Word as being most
important and Who expects obedience from us, His
servants.
Our vote is simply one means that God can use to
test us and our faith. If we
vote for the candidate(s) whose policies
compromise God's moral issues, we will have
failed our duty and most importantly we will
have disappointed our Almighty God.
It simply is not an option
for Christians to compromise God's values.
Otherwise, we simply cannot please Him (our
primary goal in life).
Dio, Inc. is an attempt to
reason just what might happen if individual
Christians divorce themselves from the usual
mindset by many of the 'Christian
leaders' today, who follow
the political powers of our day and choose the
candidate(s) who compromise. They won't trust
God to bless our non-compromising efforts (why
would God listen when we willingly fail Him?).
The amazing thing is that
we will win when we do not compromise!! We
are guaranteed to lose, at least a little, when
we do compromise and, surprising enough, we
actually do win. Winning is not of
greatest importance, can't we see it?
See why.
|
Winning at any cost is too
expensive, if you give up that which
matters most.
As
Howard Phillips says:
"If you
don't vote for what you believe,
you'll never get what you want.
Stop wasting your vote on people
who don't believe what you
believe."
The definition
of insanity is continuing to
practice the same behavior and
expecting different results.

This is not necessarily an
attempt to win elections. This is a call to
Christians to stand for what we say we believe
is true. It is now our turn to carry the torch
in this marathon. If we really believe that
abortion is the moral equivalent to murder, we
cannot compromise on that issue. Christian
persecution by
China and other countries should not go
unopposed, they have no right to PNTR status and
free trade, products made by Christians in
bondage. We have many reasons not to vote to
re-elect President Bush. (See links above)
2 Timothy 3:2 People will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,
abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not
lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash,
conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but
denying its power. Have nothing to do with them
Is this us? Do we have a form
of godliness and fail to see it's power? May
God please have mercy on us.
If I
profess with the loudest voice and
clearest exposition every portion of
the truth of God except precisely
that little point which the world
and the devil are at that moment
attacking, I am not confessing
Christ, however boldly I may be
professing Christ. Where the battle
rages, there the loyalty of the
soldier is proved, and to be steady
on all battle fields besides, is
mere flight and disgrace if he
flenches at that point.
Martin Luther |
Why do we waste our vote on
someone who has taken embryonic
stem cell research further down the wrong
track than ever before? Who, with both
houses of Congress in their control, has
saved not a single baby from abortion?
We support one who has called for a Ramadan
party at the White House for the first time in
history and who equated the god of Islam with
Almighty God of Christianity and Judaism.
Who embraces the Log Cabin Republicans. We
support one who took away freedom of speech with
the Campaign Finance Reform bill and who
federalized our schools.
Now, again, if you say that it
is a wasted vote to vote for the only candidate
(Michael
Peroutka) who puts God first, then you must
reconsider your walk with God. We must
fear Him, not an election. After all,
our rulers are appointed by God but we are
responsible for our own actions.
Daniel 2:20 and said: "Praise be to the name of
God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and
deposes them. He
gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the
discerning.
Samuel Adams:
Let
each citizen remember at the moment
he is offering his vote that he is
not making a present or a compliment
to please an individual--or at least
that he ought not so to do; but that
he is executing one of the most
solemn trusts in human society for
which he is accountable to God and
his country.
John Quincy Adams:
Duty is ours; results are God's.
Noah Webster wrote (1832):
The
brief exposition of the constitution
of the United States, will unfold to
young persons the principles of
republican government; and it is the
sincere desire of the writer that
our citizens should early understand
that the genuine source of correct
republican principles is the Bible,
particularly the New Testament or
the Christian religion.
The
religion which has introduced civil
liberty is the religion of Christ
and His apostles, which enjoins
humility, piety, and benevolence;
which acknowledges in every person a
brother, or a sister, and a citizen
with equal rights. This is genuine
Christianity, and to this we owe our
free Constitutions of Government.
The
moral principles and precepts
contained in the Scriptures ought to
form the basis of all of our civil
constitutions and laws…All the
miseries and evils which men suffer
from vice, crime, ambition,
injustice, oppression, slavery and
war, proceed from their despising or
neglecting the precepts contained in
the Bible.
When you
become entitled to exercise the
right of voting for public officers,
lit it be impressed on your mind
that God commands you to choose for
rulers just men who will rule in the
fear of God. The preservation of a
republican government depends on the
faithful discharge of this duty;
If
the citizens neglect their duty and
place unprincipled men in office,
the government will soon be
corrupted; laws will be made not for
the public good so much as for the
selfish or local purposes;
Corrupt
or incompetent men will be appointed
to execute the laws; the public
revenues will be squandered on
unworthy men; and the rights of the
citizens will be violated or
disregarded.
If
a republican government fails to
secure public prosperity and
happiness, it must be because the
citizens neglect the divine
commands, and elect bad men to make
and administer the laws.

There is a growing number of
people who have realized the above truths.
God knows who will stand for Him in both the
little things as well as the big ones. The
critical question is, Where will He find you?
