When will we wake up? The LORD is speaking, are we willing to listen?

Have Americans blown it?

Of the 56 founders who signed the Declaration of Independence, sticking their necks out - not having an army and facing the most powerful military force in the world at that time, 27 had seminary degrees. This nation was totally founded on Christian principles, not religion. We have chosen to ignore their love of God and His direction for forming a nation. We have blown it for our families and children- permanently, if we don't change.

For example, the whole purpose of education in that day was to teach Biblical information and to teach children to read so they could understand the scriptures. If this is in doubt, take a look at excerpts from the New England Primer of 1777. At that time, the 's' was often written 'f'.

The following are two of the first pages for the first graders at that time. This was their first exposure to the alphabet.

Only a few pages over, the lesson became somewhat more difficult, again for first graders! Christian adults today do not understand the same concepts given in public schools to the most elementary classes. We should be ashamed. Christian leaders refuse to give an outcry. Our comfort today keeps us quiet. How much longer will our complacency anger Almighty GOD!

We have a great legacy. Our founders clearly established a Christian nation. If this republic is to survive, we absolutely must repent and go back to the foundations of our former years, inspired and directed by scripture.

Abraham Lincoln, in an 1863 Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day said:

...We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.

Patrick Henry declared:

It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.
