Our Real Crisis
In just a few days Barack Obama is to be sworn in as President.
Democrats solidly hold majorities in both houses. I hesitate
to ask, "May God help us"? When this comes to mind, so does
this scripture that so accurately applies to this situation.
Jeremiah 11:11 Therefore this is
what the LORD says: `I will
bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry
out to me, I will not listen to them.
12 The towns of Judah and the people of
Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn
incense, but they will not help them at all when disaster
strikes. 13 You have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah;
and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful
god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.' 14 "
Do not pray for this people nor
offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen
when they call to me in the time of their distress.
No, it isn't that the Republicans were better, they weren't.
Bush was a horrible president as these pages warned about. It
is all of us. We have been turned over to our sins.
You see, Obama's election (as the rest in Congress for the most
part) are products of our own great failure. For example, it
never ceases to amaze how foolish and simply ignorant many people
are when they are interviewed on the Tonight Show by
Jay Leno in what they call "Jay Walking" (and in other places).
Simple questions on history, geography, civics, etc. are answered
showing profound ignorance by very proud people who also are quick
to point out their love of Obama. Do they know anything about
what makes a country powerful or lessons from our founders and
previous generations? No. They are proudly ignorant.
And their vote counts, even if it helps destroy us.
It isn't that true conservatives have all the answers. I
especially recognize my own weaknesses. It isn't so bad to
have my vote canceled by a liberal who has researched his/her best
with deeply held convictions and research. Yet, if one is elected by people
who cannot name how many Senators are in the Senate or who is their
Vice President or one who cannot fill in simple circles on a
ballot, should the election of the president be considered a
wonderful decision?

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It
can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote
themselves largess from the public treasury. From that time on the
majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits
from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always
collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a
dictatorship.

Jeremiah 17: 5 This is what the
LORD says: "Cursed is the one who
trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose
heart turns away from the LORD. 6
He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see
prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of
the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. 7 "But blessed is
the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
We all had opportunities to study and to grow, epitomized by
Obama's life. Yet, most of us have chosen ignorance and
pleasure over truth. Ignorance and pleasure chosen over
self-discipline. Ignorance and pleasure over righteousness.
Therefore, with great anticipation, we anxiously await the swearing
in of a brilliant but unfortunately, deceived man, elected by
self-centered fools. How many realize the immoral stands by
the President-elect? Do we care? We don't care, inviting
God's destruction on our nation. Please
excuse the blunt language. The truth hurts sometimes.
Obama was elected by the most ignorant electorate of all time.
People who believe it is fine to vote more than once and proudly say
it on CNN. People who want to receive more from the government but
do not understand the price for that approach. People
who throw God out of our nation and relegate Almighty God Himself to
the same ranks as the other gods at 'ecumenical prayer' events.
Jeremiah 9: 5 Friend deceives
friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their
tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning. 6 You live
in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to
acknowledge me," declares the LORD. 7 Therefore this is what the
LORD Almighty says: "See, I will refine and test them, for what
else can I do because of the sin of my people? 8 Their tongue is
a deadly arrow; it speaks with deceit. With his mouth each
speaks cordially to his neighbor, but in his heart he sets a
trap for him. 9 Should I not
punish them for this?" declares the LORD. "Should I not avenge
myself on such a nation as this?"
Obama (and the vast majority of Americans) doesn't recognize what
George Washington deeply understood. Will Obama's Inaugural
Address have this truth, and even more, will his governing approach
recognize this truth? Others in that day understood this too.
Our assault on the unborn and acceptance of behavior God doesn't
accept, threatens our nation as we will continue to feel His painful
judgment.
George Washington
wrote in his 1789 Inaugural address: The
propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that
disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself
has ordained.
On March 11, 1792, President George
Washington wrote: I am sure
that never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a Divine
interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and
I should be pained to believe that they have forgotten that agency,
which was so often manifested during our Revolution, or that
they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God who is alone
able to protect them.
Benjamin Franklin
in 1787 said "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As
nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters".
John Adams on October 11, 1798 wrote:
We have no government armed with power capable
of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and
religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or
gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a
whale goes through a net. Our
Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is
wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
John Adams
in 1776 wrote: Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for
liberty, but it is religion and morality alone, which can establish
the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only
foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue; and if this cannot
be inspired into our people in a greater measure than they have it
now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but
they will not obtain a lasting liberty. They will only exchange
tyrants and tyrannies.
John Adams
in 1798 wrote: The safety and prosperity of
nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and
blessing of Almighty God; and the national acknowledgment of this
truth is not only an indispensable duty, which the people owe to
him, but a duty whose natural influence is favorable to the
promotion of that morality and piety, without which social happiness
cannot exist, nor the blessings of a free government be enjoyed.
Obama fails to recognize the overwhelming importance of seeking
Almighty God's will as the most important ingredient to assure true
homeland security and protection of the people. There is no
God but the God of the Holy Bible. We ask for His judgment
when we embrace any other god. He has shown His response when
a nation leaves His direction as portrayed in the inerrant word in
the Bible. We spit in His face when we put other gods before
Him. We anger Him when we kill the unborn. He must
punish us because we have called good, evil and evil, good.
Obama invited an openly homosexual Episcopal Bishop (Bishop Gene
Robinson) to give the invocation at a kickoff inaugural event on the
steps of the Lincoln Memorial, two days before the inauguration.
Obama actively fought against the born alive infant protection law
in Illinois. He promised Planned Parenthood that he will pass
FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act) that nullifies all previous local,
state and federal laws that limit abortions. He then repeated
that that would be the first thing he does. That is
believable and strong evidence we have to contend with God's
punishment.
Even if you disagree with the value of God and His values having
provided for and protected our nation from the beginning as the
population sought His direction, there are overwhelming secular
reasons to embrace Christian values for the well-being of the
citizens. William J. Federer wrote
"Three Secular Reasons why America Should be Under God".
This book clearly outlines our founder's understanding of this
truth. The three reasons?
1. Your rights cannot be taken away by the government if they
come from a power "higher" than the government- i.e. Creator
God;
2. There are no second class citizens if each person is equal
because each are made in the image of God;
3. You can live in freedom with few laws if the populous keeps
internal laws because they are conscious of their accountability
to God.
Worse yet, we have become the infidels. We throw God out
and embrace other gods. We love pleasure rather than
righteousness. We refuse to fight as our predecessors did
against tyranny and for freedom to worship and to speak boldly.
The Declaration of Independence tells us it is our right and our
duty to get rid of an abusive government, yet we do nothing.
Our burdensome laws have made all of us law breakers. Obama's
nominated Treasury Secretary who would run the Internal Revenue
Service failed to pay taxes and illegally employed an illegal alien.
No news coverage portrays our government rules out of control when
it trips up well trained and careful individuals and turns us all
into criminals, deserving fines and even jail. Our government is oppressive. Why should God protect us?
It is our fault.
Obama may be able to show improvement in
our economy. Don't bet on it. Let us not forget that 'what does it profits a
man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul'? Perhaps
God's judgment will include financial devastation. There is
only one way to avoid His punishment, though. We must repent.
Otherwise, our nation will be destroyed. God can use many
methods and people to punish us. It is here.
Jeremiah 19:15 "This is what the
LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: `Listen! I am going to
bring on this city and the villages around it every disaster I
pronounced against them, because they were stiff-necked and
would not listen to my words.'"
Christians who legitimately recognize the value of adhering to the
Constitution are rare and becoming rarer. It is a fantasy to
imagine we are in the majority. It simply isn't true. We
will shortly find many calling, and perhaps even accomplishing a new
constitutional convention. We will then give up what our
previous generations sacrificed and died for. Forgive us.
With that in mind, it is not surprising our worthless courts have
conspired with the rest who have arrogantly refused to come clean
regarding Obama's birthplace. His citizenship could be easily
established as is required by our Constitution yet this has not
happened. Expediency trumps the needed effort to seek truth
with the necessity of integrity, values our founders.
Christians, first we must repent, recognizing that these evils
are a product of our failure and God's judgment. Second, we must wake up to the true severity of our
upcoming oppression in the hands of those we failed to reach with
the truth.
So, we find ourselves in a major economic crisis. Is that
not also from God's judgment? We threw out His principles and
this gives us CEO's and others who would rather take care of
themselves rather than those who entrusted them to take care of
their money, often through years of hard work with the hope of a
decent retirement. Our government has willfully chosen to obligate
all of us to pay unbearable debt and interest for years to come, to
default on our debts crushing those who trusted our government or to
inflate the dollar beyond any value at all. Our government has
chosen to prop up the same nihilistic CEO's and financial
corporations with bailouts, further punishing even those without
guilt for years to come. There is only one
solution.
We have other crises. War, crime, drug abuse, overwhelming
loss of freedoms by the hands of our government. All cripple
us. Crime has been much less in the past when we had free
speech and a populous with reasonable appreciation of Christianity
and Christian principles. How much victim pain, suffering
and cost would be prevented if we taught the Ten Commandments?
Crime would be avoided.
Drug abuse and many border problems would be history if our citizens
had a moral compass that repeatedly reminded each of us that the
thousands killed in drug wars are because of our money. We
have been responsible for many deaths when we purchase illegal
drugs.
George Bush has declared Washington, D.C. as a disaster area for
the inauguration as they expect enormous crowds. NO!
Bush
is illegally spending hard earned tax dollars. It has nothing
to do with a disaster. We have grown to expect this sort of behavior
from our government. We have forgotten the first law of
economics, 'There is no such thing as a free lunch'. Truth is
no where to be found. God's judgment includes the additional
cost of deceit and money spent for this official disaster.
Congratulations, we continue to destroy ourselves.
Mr. Obama, if you want true success, you must fully embrace God's
values. If you want short lived popularity limited to the time
on earth, keep on the path you have chosen. Recognize, though,
that others will be
injured when you accept what God says is unacceptable. Yet,
you surely want the best for the people who have great hope in your
leadership.
If we, including especially you, fail to 'rightly divide the word
of truth' (2 Timothy 2:15), the state of our nation will continue to
descend into utter destruction. This will negatively affect
people here and in the afterlife. Your office as President was
ultimately God's choice, for more judgment or for repentance and
grace. God is
our only hope and our greatest threat as well. You have a big
job.
Our only solution for our true crisis? Repentance, and
pursuing righteousness, leaving our narcissistic, self-centered and
consumer focus to seeking God's will for our lives is the only
answer. Our crisis has a simple solution, yet unappreciated by
our people. Without that, Mr. Obama will pursue putting out small
fires here and there, each time taking more freedoms away and
reducing our standard of living and wealth. This is
inevitable, elements of God's judgment.
Jeremiah 22: 3 This is what the
LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of
his oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or
violence to the alien, the fatherless or the widow, and do not
shed innocent blood in this place. 4 For if you are careful to
carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David's throne
will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots
and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.
5 But if you do not obey these commands, declares the LORD, I
swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.'"
