As Christians, we love because He first loved us. We care
about other people and their well-being. We cannot forget this truth.
2 Corinthians 5:13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we
are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ's love compels
us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And
he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who
died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly
point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has
20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal
through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who
had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 6:1
As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. 2 For he says,
"In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you."
I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
1 Corinthians 12: 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries
and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love , I am
nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but
have not love, I gain nothing.
Today, we choose our own well-being above others. That is not how Christ showed
us how we should be. Of course, we should take care of ourselves but today we do it
at the expense of others. We do not work business deals that will benefit both
ourselves and the other party, but we sacrifice the other's well-being in the name of
shrewd business and success. Isn't this part of the meaning of the following verse
when Christ was answering what must occur before He comes again?
Matthew 24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow
cold, 13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
