Dan Quayle ended his candidacy today.
Sen. John McCain officially began his candidacy. Senator McCain refuses to put
abortion as an important issue and would have no problem with a running-mate that is
"pro-choice".
Buchanan is taking a beating by the press regarding his new book and possible jump to
the Reform Party.
September 20, 1999
Alan Keyes is officially a candidate. The moral message will be spoken. Will we
hear it?
September 7, 1999
Howard Phillips has just been overwhelmingly nominated to head the "Constitution
Party", formerly called the U.S. Taxpayer's Party. Republicans- watch out.
Someone like Bush cannot compete for the morals first folks, if you care.
Keyes, Bauer and Buchanan - convince the Party that they will lose many votes to
Phillips. They risk losing again, if their party walks away from those people who
care the most for this nation. One of the best deserves to be the nominee and has a
chance at winning, hopefully saving our nation as well.

Results from CSPAN. http://www.c-span.org/Campaign2000/iowapoll.asp
Gary Bauer- Good showing. A little disappointing that he talked of Reagan more than
God. Veterans and the military (important issues, though) came first. No one can doubt his
stand on the moral issues, but again, these have to be first or our freedom is gone. Help
wake up the people!
Pat Buchanan- He is strongly, and has been strongly pro-life. His web page puts
NAFTA ahead of moral values. Why? Maybe it is not that important that it is out of place
but, as Christians, we must keep eyes pointed toward God and His values. His speech for
the Iowa Straw Poll (8/14/99) did that. Thank you.
George W. Bush gave a good speech that even barely mentioned pro-life. This must be
tempered with the realization that this is the same guy who would said he would not have a
problem appointing federal judges without the litmus test of abortion. He seems like a
nice guy. How dare he aid to the soiled ground of America with the blood of aborted
fetuses? Maybe he just doesnt get it. Moral issues first. Our country is
destroyed without this change.
Elizabeth Dole- Sorry, but you cannot have values without God. That is exactly why
we are where we are today. You missed the boat.
Steve Forbes- Much better than would have been expected from the moral standpoint!
Excellent!! Has something happened to him since 4 years ago? Go for it too! It is
interesting that he senses a religious revival coming in our nation. His speech started
from the Declaration of Independence and, guess what, "Life" came first from
those attributes given to us by Almighty God! Yes, thank you, and our founders.
Alan Keyes- Wonderful as usual. Right on the target, but, if I remember right,
somehow taxes came ahead of morality in his speech.
Dan Quayle- Ok but not strong enough on God. The family is important but the family
needs Gods direction. You can be a little tougher for Gods values and that
just might be the fire to jump start your campaign.

Senator Bob Smith (see 'next election' above) has decided to leave the Republican party
and may seek the nomination of the U.S. Taxpayer's party or another party. Please,
Senator Smith, list abortion and moral issues first on your web site now. Taxes are
important but God's values are more important. Republicans- let's give Senator Smith
a good opponent such as Bauer or Keyes. Don't waste a vote on Bush.
Addendum: Senator Bob Smith has abortion listed ahead of other issues on one of 2
web sites. In recent interviews he is coming out strongly for the moral issues.
Was it the Republican political advisers keeping him from being as outright about
this issue? He left Republicans (or they left him) on principle. This may have
been the right move. If the Republicans dump on God's values, Senator Smith may be a
great option. Do we want to please God?

Recently, Pat Robertson made the comment in a 60
Minutes interview that Christians will just have to accept that we need to settle
for a candidate (George W. Bush) who will not be strongly pro-life.
Of course, this is in error. We cannot sell
out our God for political gain. Who do we serve?
Rev. Jerry Falwell on Fox News Channel said that he met
with Gov. George Bush and was reassured that he was as strongly pro-life as is he.
He supports Gov. Bush.
Another error. Christ said:
Matthew 10:32 " Whoever acknowledges me
before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns
me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven...38 and anyone who
does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his
life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Governor George W. Bush has proclaimed, if he is elected
President, he will not have a 'litmus test' of pro-life on any appointees to the Supreme
Court or Federal Judges.
By this, he has now publicly declared that his
election is more important than doing the right thing. Unfortunately he has fallen
into the same error as Dole. He will not help us repair our moral corruption.
We must do better.
As of today, there are multiple reports that Bush is
leading the rest of the Republican candidates. Pardon, but the Primaries do not
begin until February of next year. The polls must not become a 'self-fulfilling
prophecy'. Let us pray and work against this becoming the case. Now is the
time.
