2006 Election Results
RESULTS
Democrats in majority in House and Senate.
Prior to the midterm election, these pages have strictly ignored the 2006
vote.
For most of us, there was no realistic choice at the polls. Assuming no widespread voter fraud
people chose to replace many Republicans with Democrats.
This is perhaps not a fair assumption with Hugo Chavez controlling the
company manufacturing many electronic voting machines in use here. In addition,
hacking these machines is not
difficult. With many believing the ends justify the means, we
cannot have confidence in the voting process. Illegal voting is
effectively declared legal by the courts making voter ID out of bounds.
Having no confidence in our voting process is reasonable.
Until we know better or have better security measures, we will
tepidly assume
the vote is correct. In two hotly contested Senatorial races
(Pennsylvania and Virginia), voter turnout tells a story.
Comparing the 2006 election to the 2002 election (both were off years
without a presidential race), we find the following:
voter turnout
| |
2002 |
2006 |
% increase |
| Pennsylvania |
3,581,989 (for gov) |
3,997,568 (sen) |

| Virginia |
1,489,422 (sen) |
2,370,875 (sen) |
37% |
We find that more people got out to vote and to replace the
Republicans. The fear that the Christians would stay at home is
ridiculous. Some did. Others didn't. Either way, our
nation strongly voted against the moral issues, begging for God's
judgment.
The people of South Dakota were against the bold move by the South
Dakota legislators and governor and the people were for abortion on
demand, (supposedly because of the lack of exceptions)!
Unfortunately, our people frankly do not care
much about the moral
issues. There is no moral majority. Dobson and others are
wrong. Take the abortion vote in South
Dakota. Defeated by 56% of the voters. Unfortunately this
appears to be
truly representative of our people. We have forgotten God. It is another piece
of evidence implicating our need for God's judgment.
Yes, many claim to be Christians and many claim to be conservative.
Their actions speak louder. Moral issues are ignored. Sure
the Republicans missed their opportunity but if a voter really cared
about the moral issues, why would that translate into voting for someone
who is pro-homosexuality, pro-abortion, etc. People claim the
titles of 'Christian' and 'conservative' without knowing what these
terms really mean.
1John 5: 3 This is love for God: to obey
his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
Galatians 15:19 The acts of the sinful
nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage,
selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness,
orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live
like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Do we really want to get the vote out to entice people who have no
understanding of our government to be making important decisions in the
voting booth? Why should someone who knows nothing of the
candidates except from commercials or even the evening news be given the choice? American
Idol, Dancing with the Stars, various soap operas, and other
entertaining shows are not conducive of good decision making. They
prepare no one to make an intelligent vote. We
care more about football than our nation's health.
The most liberal Democrats are now in charge in the Senate and House.
Those who put them there are the 'moderate' lukewarm masses who rightly
objected to the war but wrongly think that Iraq was more important than
abortion and other moral issues. Yet the individual Democrats
elected were more centrist in mindset. They will have to often
yield to the
party left wing, socialistic, death loving people now in charge.
The ends justify the means in these leader's minds. More judgment
upon us because we deserve it. As a nation, we chose a route other than
godliness and asking for His help. He has turned us over to our
wishes.
CHRISTIAN LEADERS
President John Kennedy was much more conservative than our supposedly
conservative President Bush. The current moral issues,
homosexuality, partial birth abortion, were not even on the agenda in
those days. We knew better. Our nation has fallen into
complete depravity while the Christian 'leaders' continue to follow an
insane, failed policy following a Republican god, helping bring on our
pitiful state.
Our failure failed our country.
| "On his national radio broadcast today, Focus on the Family
Action Chairman Dr. James Dobson said he rejects the idea that
the change in Congress somehow represents an end of the
pro-family agenda.
"The way that it is being spun by the media and even by some
Republicans is that this is a rejection by the American people
of the pro-family agenda, the values-voters' perspective,' " he
said. "That is simply not true."
Dr. Dobson said some Democrats won Tuesday by embracing some
of the values held by voters — at least in their rhetoric, but
many Republicans walked away from their conservative base.
Worse, some Republicans now want the party to sprint as far as
it can from values voters...
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said
what Tuesday night really demonstrated is that Americans
continue to embrace pro-family issues. Of eight
marriage-protection amendments on the ballot, seven passed by an
average of 70 percent. Arizona's appears to be a narrow loss —
although votes are still being counted there."

Dobson and Perkins are simply wrong. They believe these moral
issues are embraced by our citizens. There was no referendum
against homosexual behavior or 'civil unions', only homosexual
"marriage". The citizens they claim embrace their values allow for
immoral behavior as normal yet want to keep the name 'marriage' for
themselves.
Dobson must wake up. It was a rejection against the "pro-family
agenda", if this includes abortion on demand in South Dakota. In
fact, everyone knows to vote for any Democrat is a vote for abortion and
probable advancing the pro-homosexual agenda. It is further
evidence we will accept tighter reigns on the churches and the
unconstitutional 'separation of church and state'. It is an
immoral call for embryonic stem cell research to unconstitutionally be
funded by the government.
No, Dr. Dobson, the people do not like Bush. They hate the war
in Iraq. They care little about the moral issues, most can take it
or leave it but are moving away from your belief. Yes, the people
are growing to dislike you since you teamed up with a president who they
despise and whose policies irritate them even more than you. Bush,
as a lukewarm but public representative of Christianity, has damaged
your own ability to portray true Christianity which you probably do
embrace. You chose a lesser god to win and you gave up your strong
platform as you became an apologist for Bush, mistakenly waiting for him
to get around to your concerns. In response, the citizens have
grown to dislike the Christianity they see, since they do not see true
Christianity. Therefore, the moral issues fall behind.
Bush lied about Rumsfeld up until the day before the election.
He was pretty convincing, wasn't he? He lied through his teeth.
Isn't that offensive to you? Where is the outrage by the Christian
'leaders' for such behavior? The man who told the Christians to
trust him? The man whose failed policies have led to many deaths
and injuries to the best of our citizens in Iraq? Wouldn't this
qualify as 'bearing false witness'?
It is not acceptable to have such lies coming from the man who was
supposed to represent us, not who is to lord over us as king. He expects us to accept
such overt lies.
How many other lies has he spoken?
Bush continues to lie about the Muslim religion as a 'religion of
peace' even though Muhammad beheaded hundreds and the Koran is full of
killing. This mischaracterization weakens our
resolve and our ability to deal with the very real threat. The election was a referendum
against Bush and unfortunately the 'Christian leadership' as well.
This vote was important. It was a referendum against Bush and
his failed neoconservative, anti-Christian policies.
Further, it
was God's loud call against the so-called Christian leaders who
foolishly supported Bush and Bush's policies even as we saw them working against
us.
Wasn't it fun to be invited to the Whitehouse for signings of bills
with a token 'Christian' or 'family' thing stuck inside the rest of the
evil legislation bankrupting our country and working against Christians?
You had a seat at the table and you sat there.
You threaten to complain. You complain. Yet, Republicans
know that will be the end of it. They still count on
'evangelical's vote', and they got it too even though they did nothing
to earn it. These votes were there as the Christians again were
the only people foolish
enough to vote for politicians who hint at a promise to do good yet
have no intention of following through.
Republican politicians pretend to care about the moral issues just
before elections and forget God's values once elected. Christians
and especially our 'leaders', as Christ's representatives on earth, look
gullible, foolish and tarnish Christ's own image when we allow ourselves
to be used as a 'base' that can be counted upon in each election since
there is supposedly no where else we can turn.
The Christians who really care voted for the worthless Republican scoundrels,
again. The more 'centrist, moderates' who care minimally about
God's biblical mandates switched their votes for the Democrats. The
Christian's strategy to support the Republicans was flawed again.
As Dobson said, even Sen. Barack Obama D(IL) made an appeal to
the moral issues.
According to an article on
WorldNetDaily, Dobson has been disappointed since the late 1990's
(at least). Unfortunately, he never learns. Sadly and
despite respect for the man, like a dog, he
keeps returning to his vomit. He isn't alone. Worse, it
isn't about elections. If we would quit pushing to win with
unworthy politicians and instead did as Christ told us- to "disciple"
men, our efforts would pay off.
IRAQ
What about Iraq? We never should have been there. There
is no evidence Saddam was able to hurt us. In fact, when he was in
power, his strong arm kept others in check. This tended to protect
the majority of the people both here, in Iraq, and elsewhere in the
Middle East and the rest of the world. Yes, he was despicable. Yet, if
we had never gone after him, many decent people would be alive today.
Benjamin Franklin in
1787 said "Only a virtuous people are
capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have
more need of masters".
Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself
to the governing authorities , for there is no authority except that
which God has established. The authorities that exist have been
established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority
is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will
bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who
do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear
of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be
afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant,
an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
As mentioned elsewhere
in these pages, we have a failed policy in Iraq establishing an Islamic
state at the cost of our soldier's lives, their devastating injuries and
extreme financial burden on our people.
The election was also a referendum on Iraq. It is foolish and
dangerous to have a war on terror. It shows we have no idea who our real enemy
is and we therefore cannot respond appropriately. That is similar to
declaring war against the blitzkrieg, a tactic, not an enemy.
We are in a religious war, one we were not wise enough to avoid yet
one we did not start. We can never win until we know our enemy and
why we are fighting Iraq is a sideline. Our enemy is dispersed
throughout the world and completely committed to our destruction and to
establish Sharia law. In other words, no rights. As
compared to our God given rights in our Declaration of Independence,
their god took away any rights. It is not the same god.
Even though we have many who don't think of us really at war, we are in
a desperate battle against Islamic radicals who have put fear in the
complacent (moderate) Islamic majority also trapped in an evil religion. Yes,
we should pray for them. We hate no one. We wish no harm to any, indeed we are to
love them. Yet, when the parents teach the children lies and hate,
we have no choice but to protect our own families.
They become responsible for our defensive blows upon themselves.
Their blood is on their own hands. Some are committed to be
martyred and it, most unfortunately, becomes our job to keep ourselves
out of their foolish plans by destroying them prior to
destroying themselves plus us.
We should
not have gone to Iraq. We cannot 'stay the course' or 'go the long
haul' and expect any
form of victory. It becomes a recipe for continual loss of our own
soldiers for years.
We are currently unwilling to face that
we must avoid being destroyed by the enemy who is after us. We
should hurt the enemy where they feel the pain, unfortunately we must if
we want protection.
We should put destruction of mosques and even civilians on the table as
long as
violence against Americans continues. Remember, even our least
important soldier is more important that the evil mosques.
Certainly, a soldier's life is never of less value than political gains.
Even
Al-Aqsa mosque should be understood as a target, if necessary. And, follow
through to decrease attacks as needed. It is better to be alone in
the world than destroyed. Where is our big stick? To try to
protect ourselves, these thugs need to be reminded of our strength.
Yet, if God's hand is against us as well (such as seen today with the
painful judgment our nation is currently going through), all our
military efforts could be for naught. These mobs
of killers understand only strength.
Although it goes against the grain of our Christian religion of love,
defensive preservation is a form of love for both ourselves and also
those who are trapped in Islam yet wish us no harm. Suppose when
Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia the Germans (including the civilians)
would have been met with overwhelming force, instead of broken, foolish
diplomacy.
If the Germans were stopped after Czechoslovakia, it would not have been popular but how many 'moderate' German,
Jewish, and millions of others would have been saved that instead died in the
larger World War? Instead of finding ourselves having to save all
of Europe, stopping Hitler's intentions at one country would have been
much less painful and costly, again, even for the German civilians, some
who would have died.
Again, today we can never expect the moderates to fight the extremists, we must sooner
or later. We cannot negotiate with those embracing an ideology
that is completely dedicated to our destruction. That merely
postpones and worsens the coming disaster.
The elections were watched by the insurgents (as we call them) and
likely there was no interest in hitting our own country with more terrorism
prior to the election as that would increase the likelihood Bush would be
reelected, seen as tougher on them than the Democrats. Now the midterm election is over, their threats may become reality.
As we are in a war with an enemy dedicated to our demise, we must
return the favor. We can leave Iraq, knowing we made a terrible
mistake for the Iraqi people and ask their forgiveness.
Since we
claim we are at war with an enemy who is committed to kill us, we must
remind them of our power and strength. This is the only message
they will hear.
The complacent majority will become inspired to follow the dedicated
minority totally committed to God's Word, not being used by petty
politicians who take our God given rights and push their own agendas to
rule the world.
The recent election gives credibility to these web pages, having
warned years ago of just this outcome. It is quite likely that
Christian persecution in this nation will soon begin on a scale before seen only in
other nations. Citizens who disagree with us, partially because
they are hurt by our 'Christian leaders' support of Bush's failed policies, will
grow in anger against Christianity.
It is not true Christianity
that has ushered in this increased hatred but Christians lacking
discernment supported
Christian leaders who followed Bush with terrible results. True
Christianity cares not so much about winning on earth. It is
guaranteed the victory in the long haul. What does matter is the
quality of the message for salvation and discipleship of our neighbors and families.
Gridlock is the friend of the
people. We would be better off with more limited government such
as we had even in the 60's or 70's. We don't need government to give us
stuff. And Newt Gingrich is wrong, we have no business 'loaning'
our rights to our government.
Do we need the government to control us? With Christianity, the
Ten Commandments, and true justice (each lacking today in our nation),
we were once truly self-controlled.
We love our entitlements that are
blatantly unconstitutional and much more costly than taking care of
ourselves. Receiving these is at a high price as we give up our
freedom and our financial future. We don't really want our
representatives to pass a bunch of stuff to be 'doing the work of the
people'. They add incredible burdens upon all aspects of our
lives.
Elton John thinks we should 'ban' all religions. I suppose God
who created him and allowed his talent appreciates that idea.
Another sad tale of a darkened, foolish heart. At some time, every
knee will bow to Christ, even this song writer's.
Now that we have the new make up of the Senate and House, you can bet illegal immigration will become legal.
Our nation will never be the same. This is a recipe for mass
illegal alien amnesty which will change our 'rule of law', rewarding
those who choose to break the law as means to get what they want.
As they have already shown themselves to have disrespect of our laws,
their manner of voting in the future will reflect further self-centered
lawlessness. Bush loves it and so do
the Democrats.
Leviticus 19: 15 "`Do not pervert justice
; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but
judge your neighbor fairly.
Isaiah 59: 7 Their feet rush into sin;
they are swift to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are evil thoughts;
ruin and destruction mark their ways. 8 The way of peace they do not
know; there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into
crooked roads; no one who walks in them will know peace. 9 So justice is
far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light, but
all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows. 10 Like
the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without
eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we
are like the dead. 11 We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like
doves. We look for justice , but find none; for deliverance, but it is
far away. 12 For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins
testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge
our iniquities: 13 rebellion and treachery against the LORD, turning our
backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering lies our
hearts have conceived. 14 So justice is driven back, and righteousness
stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot
enter. 15 Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a
prey. The LORD looked and was displeased that there was no justice .
All of these troubles are evidence of one great truth. We are
under God's judgment. May God have mercy upon us.
